PICK #2
MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Don Wilds C 7'1'' 237 22 B C C B+ B A
MILWAUKEE BUCKS Draft21
Wilds out of Vicksburg, plays like someone 5 years older, with a tough physical crafty style. He can score from almost anyewhere and can clean the glass in the paint well. At 7'1 he is a man mountain and scouts had him as the best bigman in the draft.
Milwaukee need a leader and Wilds will be it from day 1.
GRADE A
Predicted #2

"I'm excited to add Don Wilds to the squad-let's face it, he's already the franchise. I'm looking forward to getting him started. I think he's definitely a special player in the making. "

Needed a dramatic 4-0 sim without the team's best player...but I managed to set a new franchise record with 53 wins.

PostSubject: Re: MILWAUKEE BUCKS   MILWAUKEE BUCKS EmptySun Oct 28, 2012 8:13 pm

The Bucks have started the season with a 4-5 record which isn't disastrous given the youth of the starters (25.0 avg age) and with two thirds of games on the road. The defensive play, however, has been problematic and a lineup change is required. Lawrence Lucia and Jose Osborn will enter the lineup in place of Tony Cartwright and Regis Sawyer. The Bucks are hoping that Osborn can contribute offensively at the same level of Sawyer and that Senstov is ready to assume a larger role in the production. If the offensive drop isn't too much, the veteran experience and added defensive ability from increased minutes for Lucia, Osborn, and Gaines should prove beneficial.

MILWAUKEE BUCKS Empty
PostSubject: Re: MILWAUKEE BUCKS   MILWAUKEE BUCKS EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 11:06 pm

A tough 5 game week coming up for the Brew Crew. Although the combined records of opponents are only 19-17, there's not much rest, a bit of travel, and two power houses in the Cavs and Knicks on the docket. This will be a good test for this team. How do the starting lineups stack up?

@ New Jersey
We'll try not to give New jersey their first home win of the season. The Nets like to beat their opponents on the perimeter and this is where I'll need strong games from Senstov and warner to contain their guards. I would expect improved play and a strong challenge from New Jersey. I think the poor ball handling and defensive play to start the season is a bit of an abberation.

Cleveland 7-0
This will be an exciting test in front of the home crowd. The Cavs have one of the more balanced attacks you will find in the league with 5 starters that can collectively threaten inside and out. The Cavs also have a stingy defense so capitalizing upon my size advantage and continuing to take good care of the basketball are musts.

@ Miami 2-4
With 4 rookie starters, it will be interesting to see if Hess can break through and make a true "Fab Five" in Miami. At 22.6 y.o., the Heat are one of the rare starting fives younger than the Bucks' 24.8. On the road, we'll try to play disciplined lock down D and convert turnovers from this inexperienced team into opportunity buckets.

@ Boston 4-5
The oxygen tanks are packed for the trip to Boston where the Celtics are combining for 253.7 ppg in nine contests. things may slow down a tad with Anthony John out of action but Boston has other explosive options off the bench. Depends if the Celtics shake things up to address the defensive concerns. The Bucks will try to limit the tempo and miscues and take advantage of the mismatch opportunities that are out there.

Knicks 5-1
Not many weaknesses here to exploit. One of the best defensive starting units with a very balanced offensive attack. All I can do here is try to control the tempo and the possession battle. that has been a strong point this season but that will not be easy or necessarily enough against the Knicks.

MILWAUKEE BUCKS Empty
PostSubject: Re: MILWAUKEE BUCKS   MILWAUKEE BUCKS EmptyTue Jan 01, 2013 3:47 pm

On paper, the Bucks will enjoy a bit of a lighter schedule this week with only three games (two at home) against teams with a combined record of 10-21. This is very deceiving, however, as the opponent record is largely driven by a rather flukish 1-12 collapse by the Nets.

@ New Orleans
The Hornets have shown a strong home court presence in the early going but will have to battle for the next few weeks without Girard Carpenter. This injury probably forces the flying Frenchman, Vincent Brousseau, back to the point. This will prove a full night's work for Kraig Warner who's primary task is to keep Brousseau in check. The Hornets have been a pretty solid defensive team thus far. Offensively, there are an army of strong perimeter threats throughout the lineup and the team has put up a 43% mark from beyond the arc year to date. Interesting matchup as the Bucks have been very strong on defending the three ball to date.

Philadelphia
The 76ers are also dealing with an extended injury to their starting point guard, Henry Brewer. Similar to the Hornets, the replacement for Brewer is an explosive scoring guard. Derek Falcon got a taste for the role last week and is quickly emerging as one of the best steals from this past draft. The 76ers have a great offensive team which will challenge the Bucks from anywhere on the court. The Bucks can't count on their accustomed rebounding edge in this matchup. Keys to victory for Milwaukee are exploiting the 76ers aversion to defense and taking them out of their comfort zone on offense by forcing the extra pass.

New Jersey
The Nets are a team that should be very motivated this week to turn their season around. They are in a huge unexpected hole and will probably require a minimum of a 58% win rate the rest of the way to make the #8 seed. While not outside the realm of possibility with the talent on the roster, the work needs to begin this week. They have added an explosive talent via trade in recent #2 overall pick Rene Kress. Scoring has been particularly problematic so this deal should help. The initial meeting between these two teams in New Jersey was only decided by three points as the Bucks held off a furious fourth quarter charge on the road.
